Our May 24 story time discusses importance of hair in Native cultures. Native men and boys have often been bullied or harassed for keeping their hair long and face pressure to change it to fit in. In Thunder's Hair by Jessie Taken Alive-Rencountre, a boy deals with this pressure and explores how his hair connects him with his culture, along with learning how to resolve conflicts with his peers.
