September is the official month that Michigan Apple Fest hosted in Sparta (just 10 minutes north of Grand Rapids)! It is a family oriented event celebrating the harvest of fresh fruits and vegetables grown on “the Ridge” near Sparta, Michigan, the heart of Apple country. Kids Carnival, hands on art for kids, kiddie sling shot contest, live street entertainment, a Apple Sling Shot Contest & much more make up this day long celebration.
